Dead Center Precision Ltd. was founded in 1987 by John and Norma Slegtenhorst in Oxford Station Ontario and relocated in 2010 to Rideau Lakes Township near Westport Ontario.

John attended Algonquin College of applied arts and technology and graduated in 1980 with a diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology. He started his career as a computer technician in the photo typesetting section of the Ottawa Journal and later as an electronic technologist at Energy Mines and Resources Canada where he worked in the seismology department. He then spent 18 years at RBR Ltd. where he transitioned to machining and now has over 40 years experience as a machinist with a solid background in electronics.

Norma has worked for numerous companies as an accomplished office manager with extensive experience in accounting, finance and payroll. Her last posting was with RBR Ltd. were she held the position of assistant manager for 15 years.

DCP Ltd. has two full time employees. Darryl Anderton has 28 years experience as a general machinist with 12 years experience in production and programming on CNC lathe. He has been with DCP Ltd. since 1995. Justine Paterson has 13 years experience as a general machinist with 9 years experience in production and programming on 4-axis CNC machining center. She has been with DCP Ltd. since 2011.
